Step-by-Step Guide: Setting up Azure Migrate, Project and Downloading Appliance

1. Click “Search resources” and Type Azure Migrate

2. Click “Azure Migrate”

3. Click “Discover, assess and migrate”

4. Click “Create project”

5. Click “Subscription”

6. Choose Subscription you wish to deploy Azure Migrate to

7. Click “Resource group: Create new”

8. Click “OK”

9. Click “Project” & enter a name for your Project (I’ve used Site01)

10. Click “Geography” Select Region you wish to deploy Azure Migrate to

11. Click here

12. Click “Advanced”

13. Click “Connectivity method”

14. You’ll see 2 options for this demo choose Public Endpoint

15. Click “Create”

16. Click “Discover”

17. Click “Are your servers virtualized?”

18. Choose the option that meets with your environment.

19. Click “Name your appliance” and provide a name.

20. Click “Generate key” This could take a few minutes

21. Click “Copy to clipboard the value for Project key” and save somewhere safe, you’ll need this for activating the appliance later.

22. Choose best option for your download, Zip file will be faster, but you’ll need the means to unzip it once downloaded.

23. Click “Download appliance”
